Phil Collins' Genesis bandmate has been taken to hospital for medical treatment because of an adverse reaction to medication just before he was supposed to perform.

AceShowbiz - Steve Hackett's concert in Phoenix on Saturday, April 13 was abruptly canceled due to his adverse reaction to medication. The Genesis guitarist was rushed to the hospital from backstage, leaving fans disappointed.

Hackett revealed on Facebook that he had a bronchial infection and suffered an adverse reaction to medication, prompting medical attention. He expressed regret for missing the show and promised to reschedule as soon as possible.

The concert was part of a tour where Hackett was revisiting "Foxtrot," a classic album with Genesis, while also showcasing songs from his solo album "The Circus and the Nightwhale." Hackett emphasized balancing nostalgia with new material to avoid being solely defined by his past work.

Danny Zelisko Presents, the tour promoter, announced that they are attempting to reschedule the performance. If that is not possible, ticket holders will be fully refunded.

Despite the setback, Hackett's health is improving, and he is eager to return to Phoenix soon.

In a recent interview, Steve Hackett expressed his admiration and concern for his former Genesis bandmate, Phil Collins, whose health has declined in recent years. Hackett "showed visible emotion" when discussing Collins' spinal injury, which has left him unable to play drums.

Collins, who was joined by his son on drums at Genesis's final concert in 2022, has since expressed frustration with his physical limitations. He now enjoys his time at home, but his former bandmates acknowledge his health challenges.

Hackett emphasized his deep affection for Collins, saying that he "doesn't deserve what happened to him." This revelation highlights the enduring bond between former Genesis members despite their differing paths.
